54 Cynthia Sheppard Cynthia Sheppard, freelance illustrator, is specializing in fantasy figurative art for games and books and if she relishes being a games artist, it is because she plays the games too. Working on bringing something you love to life is one of the best rewards of the job. And indeed, the fans are an additional bonus, and games are a great vehicle for getting your work seen by a wide audience. Cynthia belongs to that first generation of kids to be brought up with digital art programs, but she is also part of a generation who still has its roots in the history of Art. Indeed, the young Cynthia was nurtured in a way her peers probably weren’t, as her father was an artist as well. She spent many nights as a toddler looking at Salvador Dali show catalogues instead of the picture books many children were raised with.
