This is the original Watercolour painting by John Worsley.

The top panel depicts a hilarious scene as Hannibal the Baby Elephant is strapped in to his airplane seat for take off.

The bottom piece, beautifully painted by Worsley, shows a very bashful Hannibal with the stewardess offering food to the protagonist. Other passengers look on and find the scene humorous.

The simple yet perfectly illustrated facial expressions of all the passengers, coupled with the water colour wash and fine paint and ink work make this a very special piece.

This piece also bears the artist's official rubber stamp on the reverse.

A beautiful monotone illustration board painted for a page of Wee Willie Winkie published January 30th 1967 in Treasure magazine.

Worsley, who spent time in a P.O.W. camp after being captured in Yugoslavia during World War II, achieves a fantastic liberation from the past by painting in such a fluid joyful manner.

Worsley's work can be found in The Imperial War Museum, The Maritime Museum, The collection of HM The Queen, The Savage club and many other private collections including those of Royal Families, banks and Colleges.
