This is the Signed unique original Pen & Ink Wash by Fortunino Matania.

The original drawing in pencil and black ink wash on board used in The Sphere 18th May 1940. Matania's drawing depicts in immaculate detail German troops entering Denmark's capital in front of Copenhagen's Town Hall on Tuesday April 9th 1940 during World War II.

Although Matania is well known for his prolific paintings and drawings of scenes from World War I few of his World War II paintings have survived and are rarely offered for sale. This amazing example is a true masterpiece of detail.

This original art features as Fig. 42 in the book The Art of Fortunino Matania: catalogue of original art & prints.
