This is the unique original Gouache painting by Peter Jackson.

A montage of scenes representing aspects of life in Roman Britain. In the main picture Peter Jackson shows a warm welcome for a Roman soldier from his wife and young son.

On the right we see the baths at Bath, a milepost on the impressive new Roman roads and a section of the famous wall which the Emperor Hadrian had built with a bust of same.
