This is the Signed original Watercolour painting by Wilf Hardy.

The Skyhook was an invention designed to enable giant airships to function as airborne aircraft carriers with the hook stowing aircraft away between flights. Despite some early success it proved too dangerous to fully develop.

Although in three years of trials there was never a problem with the planes both the Acron and Macon carriers crashed. Here we see a U.S. Navy Curtis F9C-2 Sparrowhawk about to be "caught" by a U.S. Navy airship.

An original signed painting by Wilf Hardy that first appeared in Look and Learn # 298 30th September 1967.
