1964This is the unique original Gouache painting by Ron Embleton.
A stunning painting by Embleton depicting the fire ships used by the British during the battle of Trafalgar against the French. Embleton's mastery of colour brings this piece alive as the smoke and flames reflect iridescently off the calm sea, the lapping waves bringing the fire ships of doom closer and closer.
This is a splendid example of Embleton's mastery and use of extreme colour. This board does unfortunately have minor surface scratches to the centre and a touch of glue residue causing a slight reflectiveness to the bottom right hand corner. Although this hardly detracts from the quality of the painting, it is reflected in the price.
