It was through discussing the problem with friends that she got to hear about a recently opened high school that, as he recalls, was very similar to the academy in the TV series Fame . The Milwaukee High School of the Arts had opened its doors two years earlier to students wishing to pursue careers in the arts. Two hours a day were set aside for students to develop their own particular skill set, be that dance, drama or, as in Jeff ’s case, art. Admission was strictly by audition and to everyone’s relief, not least Jeff ’s, he was accepted. His high schooling whirled by in a blur as his horizons continued to expand and his skills with pencil and paintbrush grew. It was at the age of 15 that a friend introduced him to the work of another artist who was to have a lasting influence. The friend had a battered copy of ‘The Fantastic Art of Frank Frazetta’ and, as a spellbound Jeff turned the pages, his love of fantasy art was consolidated as his gaze surveyed the work of the artist whose
