A rare unpublished drawing from Matania's personal archive.

This is the Signed original Pen & Ink drawing by Fortunino Matania.

This is an original pen and ink drawing by Matania. In 1940 the British Government interned all "aliens" German and Italian residents in the UK for security reasons. Unfortunately Matania fell into this category despite have been a resident in the UK since the early 1900s.

He drew this picture of Burns Mill near Bury, Lancashire and depicted himself in the dark suit and white hair and the perspective of the interior of the building and the grim conditions are very amply demonstrated in this excellent drawing.

This drawing features in the book The Art of Fortunino Matania: catalogue of original art & prints as FIG 41.
