This is the unique original Gouache painting by Bernard Long.

Ramapithecus was an extinct anthropoid ape of the Miocene epoch, known from remains found in south-western Asia and East Africa, and probably ancestral to the orang-utan. Mount Kilimanjaro can be seen in the background as the ancestor ape feeds on grasses.
